Abstract

The author describes the little-known period of life of the outstanding Soviet Historian B.F. Porshnev (1905-1972) - his service in the position of Scientific Consultant of the Research Bibliographical Department of the All-Union Library named after V.I. Lenin in the years 1932-1935. On the basis of archival materials, including the unpublished articles of B.F. Porshnev, there was analyzed his theoretical and practical work in the field of Library Bibliographic Classification.
