Abstract

Ultrasound examination has experienced rapid development since the 1950s. From an early observation of the similarity between the fetus in the amniotic fluid and the submarines, we have now a device, which is absolutely necessary in emergency and intensive care units for rapid decision-making. In addition to modes B and M, the Doppler phenomenon-based Doppler ultrasound examination was also introduced, which provides important information while checking the heart in cardiology. The new idea of a Doppler-UH profiling on the hepatic vein with a specific device provides good results about the body fluid amount and the circulatory status. In conclusion, the spreading of ultrasound examinations is a forward-looking process that increases patient safety.
