Abstract
This paper deals with the establishment of disaster victim identification (DVI) work after mass fatality incidents in Hungary. DVI is one of the standing committees of Interpol, and also the name of the international protocol and methodology on disaster victim identification. In order to adapt the DVI protocol in Hungary, European and other international examples are presented, and also the efforts to establish the Hungarian DVI Unit between the autumn of 2017 and the summer of 2018 is accounted.
