Abstract

The paper industry is among the 5 largest industrial branches in the world. The paint industry also belongs to the chemical industry, which is the 5 largest industrial branches in the world.Another of the similarities of the paper and paint industry is that their prescriptions have always been kept secret from their discovery to the present day. The aim of this study is; gaining economies of onion skin as a lignocellulosic waste. For this purpose, dyestuff was obtained from the onion skin to dye the pulp. Onion skin is sourced from grocers selling fruit and vegetables. By paying attention to the fact that the raw materials used are of natural origin, it is aimed to both protect human health and prevent environmental pollution. Pure water extraction was preferred in natural dye. After the dyeing process, color measurements were made with the help of painted papers by spectrophotometer. Red tints were obtained. As the dyestuff concentration increased, the tint became dark red. It is determined that the natural dyes obtained according to these measurements are fixed on the produced papers. Mordant-free dyeing was also performed to determine the mordant properties of grape vinegar. It has been observed that grape vinegar increases the coloring properties.
