Abstract

This article deals with the visiting yatirs, publicly believed that a place or grave of a holy man, of Alawites in Alamut Village in Bozdogan, Aydin. In introduction part, I focus on the concept of yatir and tomb, which is used frequently related to this word. Chapter I talks about the geographic position and demographic structure of Alamut Village and then the history of the village and Alawites of the village in this region. Chapter II deals with these Alawites' visit to the yatir of Madran Baba in terms of customs, rules, beliefs, and traditions. In this Chapter, it is also mentioned some of the legends told about the yatir. Finally, I conclude my thoughts and opinions on the yatir of Madran Baba and the visit of Alawits of Alamut to this yatir in Conclusion part.
