Abstract
New solutions of the axisymmetric boundary-layer equations are presented. The solutions are associated with free shear layers within non-uniform streams. Both jet- and wake-like velocity profiles have been found. In the appropriate limit it is demonstrated that the jet-like profiles asymptote to the round jet solution in a quiescent ambient.
