Abstract
The creation of axions in high-energy collisions of electrons on atoms is calculated. The fact that the axion spectrum is strongly peaked at high axion energies may make it possible to detect high-energy axions created in a thin target, if the axions exist. Such an experiment may supplement current beam-dump experiments.
