Abstract

Abstract A new alkaloid, axinellamide ( 1 ), was isolated from the marine sponge Axinella sp. collected off the coast of Trinidad. The structure was determined by 2D-NMR spectroscopy to be 5-hydroxy-5-((E,E)-6-methyl-2,4-octadienyl)-3-pyrrolin-2-on.
