Abstract

We have obtained and presented the anisotropic axially symmetric cosmological model in Barber’s second self-creation theory of gravitation when the energy momentum tensor is a bulk viscous fluid containing one-dimensional cosmic strings. It is observed that this bulk viscous string cosmological model always represents an accelerated and expanding universe. In the absence of bulk viscosity, as special cases, we get the axially symmetric perfect fluid string cosmological model as well as string cosmological model in this theory. Some physical and geometrical properties are also discussed.
