Abstract
This article discusses the components of a source water protection program and the benefits a good program can offer. It lists some of the more important current and emerging topics and describes the AWWA Source Water Protection Committee, whose goal is to provide information to water utilities and other stakeholders to help them plan and implement effective source water assessment and protection programs. The article lists the various activities that the committee is involved in.
