Abstract

Background: Face-to-face medical examinations are routine in Japan, except for some isolated islands and remote areas. Since 2015, telemedicine has been introduced to a few areas. Although telemedicine is highly convenient, many patients resist participating in a medical system that is not conventionally face-to-face.
