Abstract

Abstract : The paper presents an investigation into ethnic choice among young children in London-the first of its kind in Britain. The appearance and rapid growth of Negro communities in the late 1950s in some areas provided the opportunity to start such a research, and the tensions which soon arose made it a matter of obligation.
