The award permits a young investigator to travel to the annual meeting and to present research orally or in poster format and to engage in discussion with senior investigators. The candidates are young investigators (MD or PhD), fellows in training, and academicians who hold an academic rank no higher than that of instructor at the time of submission of an abstract. Each awardee (up to 10) receives $1200.The recipients of this award are Elangovan Vellaichamy, Shetal Padia, Kelly Parsons, Jennifer Sullivan, Andreas Beyer, Jeffrey Olearczyk, Sandra Malakauskas, Youping Wang, Jeffrey Peterson, and Jiang Xu. Prieto-Carrasquero, Anderson Ferreira, and Fernando Carneiro.New Investigator Travel Award for Japanese Fellows (Supported by an Educational Grant From Pfizer)The purpose of this award is to encourage new investigators from Japan to undertake or continue hypertension research and to participate in the Annual Fall Conference and Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association Council for High Blood Pressure Research. The award is presented to up to 5 qualified new investigators from Japan who present papers at the annual fall conference. Each awardee receives $2000.
