Abstract

The avoidance of heavy-handed construction recommendations for achieving acoustic performance is important to ensure project success. Keys to achieving this goal include proper alignment of client expectations regarding acoustics, project schedule, and budgetas well as practice of an interdisciplinary approach to project design and construction. This presentation will provide several examples of how educating clients, design team members, and the constructorson the importance of integrated design and construction, and following through with appropriate construction materials and methods, can result in better projects at lower cost—and avoid heavy handed recommendations and construction.
