Abstract

JURIST Guest Columnist Kevin Govern of Ave Maria School of Law says that members of the Gaddafi regime must be brought to justice in accordance with international law and should not be allowed to go into exile like other dictators in the region. EPILOG: Subsequent to this publication, Muammar Gaddafi, the deposed leader of Libya, died on Oct 20, 2011 during the Battle of Sirte. Gaddafi had eight biological children, seven of them sons. Three of Gaddafi's sons were killed in the uprising, including former National Security Adviser Mutassim Gaddafi, who died at the hands of the rebels on the same day as his father, and his son and former heir-apparent Saif al-Islam was awaiting trial in a Libyan prison as of the Spring of 2013.
