Abstract
An important part of a radiologist’s job is to provide recommendations for follow-up imaging. Imaging findings at a later time point help confirm or exclude a diagnosis. Stability of a vertebral fracture over months would favor an osteoporotic fracture. A pathologic fracture from metastasis is more likely to increase in its extent or be accompanied by new lesions. Recommendations for additional imaging should include the study type, the reason for follow-up, and the time frame in which to perform the follow-up.
