Abstract

This study aimed to compare the profitability of no-tillage sugarcane production versus conventional systems in Campos dos Goytacazes - RJ. Parameters as the Net Present Value (NPV) and the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) were used. The sugarcane grown in the no-tillage system showed a positive NPV up to discount rates of 7% and 6% by the conventional system, being the IRR equal to 7.93 and 6.84% respectively. It can be concluded that sugarcane produced in the no-tillage system generated better economic results than that cultivated with conventional tillage.
