Abstract

A review on the availability and use of radioactivity standards includes discussions on the usefulness and accuracy of nuclear data as presently compiled and the distribution of standards. It was concluded that a need for better nuclear data exists. Information and instruction are needed to aid the non- specialist in deciding when absolute standards are really needed and how to use them. Standards producers should supply more information concerning the method of assay, errors, and chemical form of th& standard. (P.C.H.)
