Abstract

Introduction: Sport-related concussion continues to receive frequent and widespread media coverage. Sport governing bodies are facing increased pressure to improve athlete safety, but they have responded in diverse ways, from taking little or no action to developing and implementing comprehensive guidelines for evaluating and managing sport-related concussion. Despite the relatively high risk of concussion in full-contact combat sports, the status quo of concussion guidelines among combat sport governing bodies in Australia is unknown.
