Abstract

While involved in a series of cell-freezing experiments, a number of atypical recorder tracings were noted. A telethermometer with a rectal probe, coupled to a strip recorder, was placed in parallel operation with the existing system. Certain modifications were then made to the freeze chamber. The dual system, utilizing independent recording and sensing systems, verified acquired data which otherwise might have been in question with a single recording and sensing device. A dual sensing and recording approach may be useful in the laboratory that does not have electronic personnel to troubleshoot the equipment.
