Abstract

Congenitally missing or malformed anterior maxillary teeth are a frequent finding in cleft patients, the maxillary lateral incisor being the most commonly affected tooth. This has a bearing on occlusion, function, speech and aesthetics. Conventional treatment options involve both prosthetic and surgical solutions in conjunction with orthodontic therapy, however, not without limitations.
