Abstract

Objective: Aggressive cancer chemotherapy and radiotherapy is associated with high incidence of premature ovarian failure. Cryopreservation and grafting of ovarian cortical pieces is being used to preserve fertility. Delayed establishment of blood supply led to progressive loss of follicles and limited functional capacity of these pieces. The objective of this study is to develop a protocol for the long-term storage of an entire ovary followed by autotransplantation followed by microvascular anastomosis.
