Abstract
Intraoperative autotransfusion was performed in 48 of 90 women with ectopic pregnancy, seen between 1990 and 1995. Autotransfusion was performed more frequently in the presence of hypovolaemic shock and more severe haemoperitoneum. The procedure appeared safe and useful. Contraindications and complications are discussed.
