Abstract

It is shown that a spatially localized collective excitation of the atomic sublattice (autosoliton) appears and propagates in a structurally unstable crystal occurring in a pretransition state. The autosoliton, on the one hand, is a structural defect comprising two interphase boundaries separated by the second phase, and, on the other hand, it can be considered as a pulse of the inelastic strain field.
