Abstract

The present text is an attempt to answer the question: what is the function of authority in the process of social construction of knowledge, including science knowledge. The theoretical frame of the discussion includes concepts of Mary Douglas who emphasize the importance of social conditions for the process of knowledge construction (relations between social bonds and kind of knowledge). This paper contains the hypothesis that multiplicity of paradigms associated with weakness of authority can be regarded as pro-development factor in the social science.
