Abstract

The problem of designing a locally optimum (LO) detector to remove autoregressive interference from spread spectrum system is considered. The interference is modeled as pth order autoregressive process (AR(p)). Expressions for output signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) are derived in terms of model parameters and verified by comparing with simulation results. The performance of this technique is compared to that of the adaptive Wiener filtering technique based on the system bit error rate (BER). An FIR filter interpretation of the LO detector is also explored which simpler implementation.
