Autoradiography: Techniques and Applications.

Abstract

This book, as its title indicates, consists of three chapters describing in considerable detail the techniques of autoradiography for both the light and the electron microscope, and six chapters dealing with the application of autoradiography to such problems as DNA synthesis, RNA synthesis, and protein synthesis. There are, in addition, several less-extensively described applications as for example carbohydrates, lipids, hormones, mineral metabolism, and iron. The authors describe the techniques and the applications in a clear-cut manner and go into sufficient detail so that laboratory workers unfamiliar with the methods should have less than the usual amount of trouble in beginning these kinds of studies. There are lengthy and well chosen bibliographic references, helpful illustrations, and a well compiled subject and author index.
