Abstract

This paper studies the space rendezvous problem with the target spacecraft in an unknown elliptical orbit. By the measurements of the relative position and velocity between the chaser spacecraft and the target spacecraft, a control strategy is proposed to achieve autonomous rendezvous. In addition, the orbital information can be estimated in the rendezvous process, and then the orbital elements are calculated by the estimate information. Finally, the proposed approach is illustrated by simulations.
