Abstract
The automotive industry is looking for young associates with first-class knowledge, team spirit and their ability to take own initiative. Students can gain these abilities best by a high degree of practical orientation. To meet the mentioned requirements, the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in the USA initiated the worldwide greatest engineering competition known as Formula SAE in 1981. The fundamental idea of this competition consists in confronting students with problems and processes of a business company. Therefore the University of Applied Sciences Stralsund initiated the project student-racing team.
