Abstract

The present work reports the automation of a Kerr microscopy system for capturing magnetic domains and subsequently measuring the displacement of domain walls (DWs) with pulsed magnetic fields. Suitable algorithms are utilized for enhancing the image contrast, image filtering and the simultaneous quantitative evaluation of images, while the data acquisition with pulsed fields is run in the front-end. In order to test these aspects, DW velocity measurements in the widely studied Pt/Co/Pt system, which exhibits perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, are carried out at different temperatures (300 K). It is observed that the obtained features agree with the results reported in the literature, indicating the validity of the developed automation.
