Abstract

The automatic Cherenkov method for measuring proton energy in the collimated 634 MeV beam from the accelerator is described. The achromatic method is taken as the basic one. The applied electronics include standard units developed at the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems. The results of energy measurements of the pulsed 634 MeV proton beam from the Dubna synchrocyclotron are given. The beam intensity is 10 8 s −1. The accuracy of energy measurements is 10 −3, the energy resolution being 3%. The experiment has been performed at the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems, JINR.
