Abstract

Traditional grounding method is hard to handle increasing capacitive grounding current in single-phase arcing faults due to the development of distribution systems. Therefore, automatic suppression strategy of single-phase arcing fault is proposed and simulation of arcing fault and its automatic suppression is realized in this paper. An improved zero sequence parameters measurement (IZSPM), injecting a current which contains three frequency components into secondary side of single-phase transformer to measure realtime zero sequence parameters, was proposed and verified in EMTP-ATP. In order to realize inductance tuning, fixed Petersen coil in parallel with an adjustable reactor was employed in this paper. The automatic suppression system, proposed in this paper, is convenient and possess rapid response.
