Automatic Rheological Measurement and Processing Calculations

Abstract

This paper describes an automatic extrusion rheometer that will provide some of the polymer melt rheology data needed in the design of fabrication processes. The data are processed and stored in a computer, and as an example the computer is used to predict the parison dimensions in a blow moulding process. The predictions are compared with practical observations.
