Abstract
By using the computer image processing and the image information analysis, the system to determine the weave types of woven fabrics was developed. And it was discussed how to determine their weave types automatically by using this experimental system.Using the edge enhancement processing, the threshold processing, the smoothing processing, the mosaic averaging and the mesh processing, it was determined whether the weft yarn was on the top of the woven fabric made of the cross combination of the warp and weft yarns. In case of the plain weave fabrics, this determination was performed well, but it was not successful in case of the twill weave fabrics.
