Abstract
AbstractA scheme of automatic MK spectral classification is presented. It is based upon standard spectrograms obtained for visual spectral classification. Computer results are given for all the MK standard stars earlier than Bl. They are well correlated with the MK system. However, the results might be improved by using a rapid-scanning Michelson Fourier Transform Spectrophotometer to obtain the stellar spectra. The analysis of the interferograms should also be made by a computer.
