Abstract

In this paper, a two area thermal power system has been modified with the inclusion of solar power in of the area. A new approach Grey Wolf Optimization has been utilized for automatic generation control of proposed power system with or without solar power. After investigation, it has been found that Grey Wolf Optimization performed fast convergent for controller gain of PID controller. Incorporation of Solar thermal power plant with Grey Wolf Optimization gave better results as compare to integral control, thermal power system with Grey Wolf Optimization and other optimization techniques. Step Load Perturbation has also been varied to check its effect on system performance. Dynamic characteristics of the proposed power system with STPP have been achieved through Grey Wolf Optimization.
