Abstract

Assuming that two EBSD maps corresponding to the same area of a given polycrystalline material in two states are available, an automatic method is proposed to correlate the grains as detected into the two maps. The method uses a combination of several criteria (geographic localization, size, misorientation) to perform the recognition of the corresponding grains. The effectiveness of the method is illustrated in the case of an IF steel submitted to plastic deformation.
