Abstract

The process of detector calibration is tedious and time-consuming, in order to solve this problem, an automatic system of detector calibration was built, and a software program was designed to control the instruments and realize automatic calibration of detectors. Compared with manual calibration, using this automatic system to calibrate the detector’s input power versus output voltage curve basically coincides with the manual calibration curve. When the amplitude of the signal from the source is the same, the measured power difference between automatic calibration and manual calibration is within 0.07dBm at the frequency of 9.3GHz, this is acceptable for our detector applications. Through automatic calibration, some shortcomings in the manual calibration process are solved, such as the inaccurate reading of the naked eye, the measurement time is too long, and the manual operation error causes many times of repeated measurements.
