Automatic and Quantitative Methods for Sonomyography (SMG)

Abstract

The history and recent development of Sonomyography (SMG) are introduced in this chapter. The increasing demands arising from the progress of musculoskeletal research has interacted with the rapid development of contemporary ultrasound imaging, computer vision, and AI technologies over the last few decades. This interaction has propelled a series of successful applications of medical ultrasound, which has further promoted musculoskeletal research. All these together have formed a very interesting and dynamic research field.
