Abstract
ABSTRACT An automated preparative gas chromatographic system is described. The chromatograph accommodates a variety of column types and sample collection devices. The system uses a BASIC program to control sample collection, compare peak areas, and modify collection points from run to run. For fraction collection, the system has a two-way valve in series with a 16-port value to minimize cross-contamination and collect up to sixteen fractions in unattended operation.
