Abstract

A modification of the manual spectrophotofluorometric assay of antimycin A is described whereby the antibiotic present in fermentation broths or ethanolic solution can be estimated automatically at the rate of 30 samples an hour. Results are in good agreement with those obtained with the manual assay. Only standard equipment is required which can be adjusted to assay in the range of 50–1000 to 2000–8000 μg/ml.
