Abstract

Abstract An automated method for measuring L-lactic acid in whole blood is de-scribed. The method uses a Somogyi procedure for deproteinizing and stabilizing the sample, the lactic dehydrogenase derived from yeast coupled with potassium ferricyanide for the determination. Results by this method compare favorably with those obtained by manual and automated procedures in which lactic dehydrogenase from muscle is used
