Abstract
Always during designing bodies, a compromise has to be found with diverging attributes like safety, lightweight design and NVH. Using the CAE process chain as “Structural Analyzer”, presented here by Berlin Technical University, passive safety can be improved automatically and systematically. The dissertation, basis of this article, won the “Hermann Appel Prize” in 2009 offered by IAV.
