Abstract

The new results of many electron calculations of outer p-subshell photoionization cross-section for neutral potassium, rubidium and caesium are presented. The resonance structure associated with excitation of autoionizing ns 1 np 6( n + 1)s 1 mp ( m = n + 1, 2 ,3, …) states has been studied. A crucial role of double-electron excitations has been shown. The correlations are taken into account by means of the Random Phase Approximation with Exchange (RPAE) and the Many-Body Perturbation Theory (MBPT). The differences in behaviour of electrons with opposite spin projections are traced.
