Abstract

The article presents literary criticism of the book Lahore With Love: Growing Up With Girlfriends Pakistani-Style by Fawzia Afzal-Khan. It references the article Fantasy Echo: History and the Construction of Identity by historian Joan Wallach Scott. Particular focus is given to a psychoanalytic reading of Afzak-Khan's memoir which explores the role of autobiography in the cultural representation of Muslim women's lives. Topics discussed include oppression, Islam, and feminism.
