Abstract

In order to assess factors that might affect the fitness of automobile drivers, the drivers of an amateur sports car racing club were studied. Physical, psychological, ophthalmological, and reaction-time testing was carried out and compared with drivers' records of deportment during races and accidents. Of the 4 types of procedure used in this study, psychological testing had the most value in differentiating between safe and unsafe drivers.
