Abstract

15q11-13 region is one of the most complex chromosomal regions in the human genome, and many studies have shown that the region is associated with the pathogenesis of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), Prader-willi syndrome and Angelman syndrome. Takes ASD, 15q11-13, Prader-willi syndrome and Angelman syndrome were used as the key words to search the published papers in Pubmed database. This paper reviews these studies and proved that the 15q11-13 region is an important candidate region of ASD directly or indirectly. Key words: Autism spectrum disorder(ASD); 15q11-13; Prader-willi syndrome (PWS); Angelman syndrome (AS)
