Abstract
We appreciate the interest and comments by doctors Liang and Chien on our article “Advances in cancer imaging require renewed radiotherapy dose and target volume concepts” [1]. They bring up the debate about elective nodal irradiation (ENI) in lung cancer and argue that minimization of ENI is already practice in this disease. We agree with their remarks but the history of this approach in lung cancer is different from that in head and neck cancer.
