Abstract

Abstract 1. Introduction The need, for e-learning systems fhal support a diverse sel ofpedagogical requirements ha been identified as an interesting i.wue in web-based education. Until now, signtficant R&D efort has been devoled aiming lowards web-based educarional systerns tailored lo specific pedagogical approaches. As a response to pedagogical concerns towards standardization and inferoperability needs, Edtrcational Modeling Languages (EMLs) were introduced. These languages atlempt lo provide aformal way of representing the educarional process in a commonly agreed manner. Nevertheless, still there exist very few web-based educational systems rhar support EMLs One of rhe ke.v issues to be considered when designing web-based educarional systems to support EML is rhe adoplion of easy-teuse tools for the definition of learning scenarios. In this paper we presenr the ASK Learning Designer Toolkil (ASK-LDT), a learning scenarios graphical authoring system rhat utilizes rhe IMS Learning Design specificalion and present prelimina{y evalualion results from its use.
