Abstract
I thank Dr. Oguz for his comments and agree that new anti-infective approaches are always welcome in the on-going battle between bacteria and patients. Although taurolidine sounds very promising we need to know more about intraocular concentrations and potential toxicity prior to drawing any conclusions at this juncture. It is clear from our work that therapeutic intraocular concentrations are critical in endophthalmitis prophylaxis. We await more work concerning this specific issue.
